From Friday, July 15 2005 - 8:00am To Saturday, July 16 2005 - 5:00pm Every day
Myron Curtis will be our guest
demonstrator at the July meeting on July 14, 2005. Terry Brown and Alan
Leland have got him to agree to do 2 one day workshops on the Friday and
Saturday after the meeting if there is enough member interest. His workshop will
cover making simple tools, turning a goblet, turning spheres and turning a
platter on a glue chuck. He will be traveling with Dennis Wright who is a master
pattern maker and will be available for Q&A and personal assistance. I
have a attached below a biographical resume for Myron so you may understand his
importance to the woodturning community. The class is limited to 8 people with a
minimum of 5. He has agreed to do the workshops for $200 each. Thus, the cost to
each member will be divided by the number that attend. The maximum the workshop
would cost would be $40. It will be held at Alan Leland's studio and lunch will
be on your own. If you are interested in attending please contact Thom Myers at
tmyers10@rr.nc.com or 919-468-1709 and
bring a check or cash to the meeting at which time we will determine the exact
cost.
