The class will not focus on turning bowls, platters or hollow forms but rather incorporating carving, texturing and color. Some of the topics to be covered include: carving; turned textures; and graffito technique to create designs by painting the wood and cutting through it to reveal a pattern. Participants in the workshop are encouraged to bring pieces that they have turned prior to the workshop which they wish to apply Al's techniques.
